Why Study at Pines?
Located in the wonderful city of Baguio, Bible college education at PCBBC provides for you the following:
Local Church-Based Training
PCBBC as a ministry of Pines City Baptist Church provides the following advantages:
Practical Hands-on Ministry Students will have an opportunity to be involved in a wide variety of local church ministries, providing experience and training outside the classroom.
Affordability Pines City Baptist Church has shouldered a great percentage of the expenses for PCBBC to function at a high level. This provides affordable tuition for students. Dormitories are also available for students at a low cost.
Pastoral Care and Mentorship A local church-based Bible college provides intentional pastoral care and mentorship to students led by the pastoral staff of Pines City Baptist Church.
Theological & Academic Competence
Biblical and Theological Studies Upon completion of a degree, students will have a mastery of the themes and contents of the Old and New Testaments. Courses on Bible doctrines, church history, biblical theology, and apologetics are also provided. Advanced students have the privilege of learning the basics of the biblical languages—Greek and Hebrew—to provide precision to their future preaching ministries.
Ministry Skills A variety of courses are offered to develop ministry skills in missions, biblical counseling, youth and children’s ministry, pastoral theology, church music, and other local church ministries.
Christian Growth In addition to a regular chapel hour, PCBBC offers courses focused on the development of Christian growth.
Expository Preaching Expository preaching is at the heart of the ministry at Pines City Baptist Church. Special attention is given to it in most courses offered at PCBBC in order to equip students for a future preaching ministry that is observant of context, exegetically driven, and theologically sound.
Module Classes Each semester, guest lecturers with master’s or doctorate degrees in their respective fields are invited to teach a module class.
Christ-Centered & Gospel-Focused Emphasis
While theological education is essential for the student’s ministerial training, the development of Christlike character is a priority at PCBBC. PCBBC seeks to cultivate in students a culture of passion for Jesus Christ, Christlikeness, submission to His Word, and service to one another in a spirit of humility.
Since 1961, PCBBC has been training men and women to be ministers of the Gospel who both proclaim and live out the Gospel in Northern Philippines and throughout Asia.
